Billyboy The Jamaican Cowboy

Introducing the captivating journey of Billyboy, The Jamaican Cowboy – a true maestro in the artistry of reggae blended seamlessly with country melodies. More than a mere performer, Billyboy is a Singer, Actor, Writer, Poet, Painter, Illustrator, and, above all, a proud father and devoted husband.

Born and bred in the heart of Jamaica, Billyboy emanates an authentic Country spirit that resonates through every note of his music. His life is not a performance; it's a genuine lifestyle dedicated to spreading authenticity, joy, and love to humanity through a musical repertoire that defies conventional boundaries.

Before gracing the stage with his magnetic presence, Billyboy served as a dedicated soldier in the Jamaica Defence Force, contributing over 18 years of unwavering commitment to the Jamaica National Reserve battalion. His journey led him to the hallowed halls of Mico University Teacher's College, Kingston, where he honed his skills as a Visual Art and Social Studies teacher, leaving an indelible mark on the young minds at White Marl Primary Junior High School in Spanish Town, Jamaica.

Upon crossing borders to the United States, Billyboy extended his commitment to public service by volunteering as an NYPD Auxiliary Police Officer, stationed at District 20, where he played a pivotal role in ensuring subway safety.

Behind the moniker "Billyboy The Jamaican Cowboy" lies Oniel Soriva Morris, born on April 26, 1980, in the quaint rural community of Brown's Hall, St Catherine, Jamaica, to Ianthe Warmington and the late Keith Morris. From an early age, Oniel's innate ability to sing blossomed, influenced by the country tunes that filled his childhood home. While "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers held a special place in his heart, the spirit of Bob Marley became an enduring inspiration.

Growing up in a Christian household in Jamaica meant country music played incessantly, but not reggae. Undeterred, Billyboy ventured into karaoke in his late teens, earning the title "king of karaoke" after triumphing in competitions, including a notable victory at the Hilton Hotel ballroom in 2002. Despite skepticism from friends, Billyboy's unwavering faith and courage fueled his pursuit of a higher musical calling, making him the first artist to embrace the unique fusion of Reggae Mixed With Country as his signature genre.

Throughout his career, Billyboy collaborated with esteemed producers such as the genius Ed Robinson, gathering musical wisdom to elevate each project. Currently working on his second EP with Dr. David Sisko from Arena 1 Records and a new single from Harmony Tree Production, Billyboy's dedication to musical innovation knows no bounds.

Beyond the stage, Billyboy's artistic endeavors extend to the silver screen, where he has left an indelible mark in movies like "M.A.D.E in New York," "Knock Yuh Head," and "Illegal Activities," directed by Philip Warmington of Papa Lover, Hungry Man's Film Production.

Billyboy The Jamaican Cowboy's musical odyssey unfolds endlessly, driven by a profound intention to change the world positively as a pioneer of the reggae mixed with country music genre. In his world, music transcends boundaries, uniting mankind in a harmonious symphony of joy and inspiration.
